EOSL.Dates

What to do 12 months before EOSL

A month-by-month checklist for the final year of OEM support on a platform.

Months 12 to 9: inventory and exposure

Pull serial numbers and contract end dates for every affected asset. Flag anything in a regulated or customer-facing path.

Get the current OEM renewal quote in writing so you have a baseline to compare against.

Months 9 to 5: decide per asset

Sort every asset into extend with OEM, move to third-party maintenance, replace, or decommission. Mixed estates are normal; the decision is per role, not per vendor.

Months 5 to 1: execute

Lock in maintenance coverage before the contract lapses to avoid re-certification fees, stage spares for critical roles, and schedule data erasure and removal for anything being retired.
